Final Thoughts

I have talked about the processes for the cultivation of ethics and politics but I have not talked very much about what it is those ethics are except to refer to “broadly defined freedom.” In part, this is because I assume that most of us are familiar with this.

Additionally, I believe that work in libre software communities affects ethical approaches in non-libre software IT spheres (and non-IT spheres to a lesser degree).

Consequently, I'm not arguing that all labor need be volunteer or institutionally independent but that an increased emphasis on these areas can help endow the larger communities with a more ethical orientation.
